Herta Müller:
Born to German farmers in Romania, she began to publish novels in the 1980s. In 1987 she emigrated to West Germany and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2009. She now lives in Berlin.
Xu Juan:
Born in Chengdu, Sichuan, she graduated from Sichuan International Studies University and from Universität Tübingen as a postgraduate. Working in the media and also as a freelance curator and a literature and art critic, she lives now in Frankfurt.
Li Xinmo:
Born in Yilan, Heilongjiang, a postgraduate from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, she is very active on the current art scene in China as a controversial and rebellious feminist artist, critic and a vanguard of free feminism. She now lives in Beijing.
Xiao Lu:
Born in Hangzhou, Zhejing, she graduated from High School of Fine Arts Attached to CAFA and Oil Painting Department of China Academy of Art in Hangzhou. She became famous for her Dialogue at the the National Modern Art Exhibition in 1989. In 2003 she made a turning point in her art to face her past and present. With her works, she was considered as a representative of critical feminism. She now lives in Beijing.
Lan Jiny:
Born in Xiuyan, Liaoning, a postgraduate from China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, she emigrated to Germany in the 1990s. As a Chinese-German artist, she is dedicated to influencing society with art. A freelance writer, spokeswoman for jovial feminism, she now lives in Düsseldorf.
Hao Qingsong:
Born in Shexian, Hebei, former editor of Northern Art, Tianjin Art Academy, he is now a Ph.D student at Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University. He is engaged in the studies of contemporary art criticism and practice. He lives in Beijing and Tianjin.
Tong Yujie:
Born in Xi'an, China, associate researcher of the Research Institute of Academy of Fine Arts of Xi'an, member of the China Art Critics Committee. She is dedicated to the study of Chinese contemporary art theory and practice. Who's post-modern, Chinese feminist art rhetoric are two books of the 4 which are published and wrritten by her. She now lives in Xi'an and Beijing.
Zhao Yan:
Born in Jinxi, Liaoning, a graduate from Xi’an International Studies University, she began her translation career in the late 1980s and studied in Germany in 1990s. She turned to(write?or) writing in the 21st century as a traditional and modern female intellectual actively engaged in both Western and Eastern culture. She now lives in Bad Sobernheim, Germany.
